Ndidi Duruhesie, Founder/Chairperson

Ndidi Duruhesie is the chairman of the board and Founder of Children Are Royal (CAR). She is the Creative Director of Create A Reality, a brand that produces products with the goal to assist in constructing nurturing environments for orphans. Additionally she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and owns a successful Child Development Center in Los Angeles, California, USA. Ndidi’s love for children is unprecedented. She believes that all children should be raised in a regal manner, because they are our tomorrow.

She is committed to annual visit to several orphanages in Nigeria, where she delivers food and clothing donations from her hometown in California to orphans. In the future she expects to grow CAR internationally to assist children in need around the globe.


Njideka Duruhesie, Project and Board Director

Njideka E. Duruhesie, is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program in International Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from University of Southern California, which she received in 2014. In 2011, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from California State University of Los Angeles. Ms. Duruhesie is original from Nigeria, but born and lives in Los Angeles, California. She served one year volunteering with the Veterans Affair (VA) homeless population at Volunteer of America. Currently, as a professional Social Worker/Therapist she is dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Ms. Duruhesie supports and empowers America’s most vulnerable groups, including veterans, at-risk youth, the frail elderly, men and women returning from prison, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions. Her work touches the mind, body, heart and ultimately the spirit of those we serve, integrating our deep compassion with highly effective programs and services.


Dr. Jennifer Udeochu, Vice Chairperson of the Board

Dr. Jennifer Udeochu Physical Therapist based in Carson, California. She works as a Physical Therapy Supervisor for US Healthworks, the leading provider of Occupational Medicine in the nation. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA and has been physical therapists for over 4 years. She enjoys working with patients with Orthopedic and sports related injuries, but also has a passion for working with the Geriatric population.

Outside of work, Dr. Udeochu likes to serve in her community through various organizations and voluntary efforts. She has served on the Board of Deacons for 6 years and was recently ordained as an Elder at her church, First Presbyterian Church of Inglewood, California.


Dr. Nneka Orjiakor, Secretary

Dr. Nneka Orjiakor is a practicing pediatrician based in Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelor of Science from UCLA and her Medical Degree from Charles Drew University-UCLA School of Medicine. She completed residency at Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Orjiakor is dedicated to the underserved communities both locally and abroad. She has participated in several medical mission trips, from Nigeria to Dominican Republic to Jamaica. Additionally, she has maintained leadership roles involving high school mentorship and various healthcare-related programs. Dr. Orjiakor decided to join Children are Royal Foundation to fuel her ever growing fire and passion by uplifting orphaned children and their underserved communities.


Emelda Ndubuizu, Treasurer

Emelda Ndubuizu is a practicing attorney based in Los Angeles, CA. She is currently the Treasurer for Children are Royal, Inc. She has joined Children are Royal, Inc. in order to provide assistance to young, needy children. When Emelda Ndubuizu is not working, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and dancing.


Tameka A. Runnels-Gibson, Voting Member

Tameka A. Runnels-Gibson is an up-and-coming leader in non-profit leadership. She currently serves as a voting board member of CAR, where she is a contributing member to the planning of the organization’s activities and events.
Prior to joining CAR, Tameka earned a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of LaVerne and participated in several dozen community and faith-based programs and philanthropic efforts. 
As a mother of 2, Tameka has a clear vision of the world she believes all children deserve to live in. Her plans for future partnerships, fundraising and her ability to bring her out of the box ideas to reality make her a perfect addition to the CAR team.
